Copaiba Oil, derived from the Copaifera tree, is a favourite ingredient that we use in our balms. We feel it complements our moisturising and nourishing properties of our oils and butters. With its earthy, slightly balsamic aroma, Copaiba is renowned for its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. We typically prefer the steam-distilled version over the resin. The resin is directly collected by tapping the tree and capturing the flowing resin - not unlike how latex is collected from rubber trees. The resin is believed to share similar beneficial properties with the essential oil.
